A not so exciting and may be a remote idea for many Kenyans— especially adults. But museums, world over have become the weekend retreat for many families. At the recently refurbished Nairobi National Museum, both archaeological and palaeontological material excavated several decades ago are exhibited for visitors to appreciate the wealth of our past. The museum is no longer the preserve of academics and foreign tourists with time on their hands. Previously attracting school parties — and many never returned— the museum is now more attractive.
